The strawberry daiquiri is a variant on the original daiquiri which was made mainly with lime juice and rum and was not a frozen beverage. The strawberry daiquiri is now much more common, so much that ordering a "daiquiri" will often get you the strawberry version. It is also more common for the drink to come "frozen", either by blending ingredients with ice or by using frozen ingredients such as cans of flavored frozen concentrates.
